Is there a particular reason that you stop builds for OpenBSD and NetBSD? Those are fully compliant Posix systems and trying to compile OSS on these operating systems seems to me would help debugging the code. NetBSD in particular is in need of good audio support until 6.0 gets released but OpenBSD ...

Just as a follow up on my earlier problems with Skype. I was rebuilding my userland over the weekend due to the XOrg 7.3 update. By accident I updated also OSS port. My skype now works flawlessly. I found out on this forum that there was a mixer bug for the AudigySE card (I thought something was wro...

Everything looks good. You even have full duplex mode so you can use Skype. I am using the same card and for some reason I did not have a full duplex mode but the card works flawlessly. I heard that there is a difference in installation between OSS coming from ports and the binaries from the web sit...

Re: OSS has not detected any supported sound hardware...
I am running PC-BSD 1.4 Beta in Parallels on a new Aluminum iMac. I installed OSS and everything seemed to go fine. When I run osstest it says: OSS has not detected any supported sound hardware in your system. When I type "ossdetect -v" i get: Detected OSS Transparent Virtual Mixing Archi...

Skype, Ekiga, and OSS
I was wondering if anybody is using Skype or Ekiga (other SIP phone) via the Open Sound System compiled from ports.

I made a progress with this sound card. I was plug in my head phones in different outlets (sound card comes with 3 for speakers and one for mike) and one of them was playing beautifully. However I now cannot get sound out of applications and I get annoying message that sound the device is busy. This...

Worked fine on PC-BSD now problems on FreeBSD
Could anybody give me some help with my Open Sound System. I migrated from PC-BSD to pure FreeBSD and sound is the last thing that needs fixing. On PC-BSD I just downloaded OSS and did pkg_add (I think from su mode) and the card Aydiology SE was flawlessly detected and I had sound in all the medial ...
