Re: Hibernation and sound 'ticking'
Killing all apps that access a sound device before hibernate shouldn't be a real solution.
Nevertheless I use hibernate only when the battery is going empty. So it's more preventing a data loss.

Re: Hibernation and sound 'ticking'
I don't know if there already has been found a solution for that problem. Just a few days ago I tried Hibernate. And I was running into the same problems like Lockheed. OSS gives me some mixer errors when I play a sound after resume from hibernate. Only solution to solve that problem is to restart o...

[Gentoo] compile error
I'm trying to compile oss-devel-9999 on a i686 machine and get the following error in ossplay_parser.c: cc -c -march=prescott -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -O -O -O -DOGG_SUPPORT -Wall -Werror -DOSS_LITTLE_ENDIAN -I../../include -I../../kernel/framework/include -I../../kernel/OS/Linux -I../../kerne...

Re: Gentoo OSS4 overlay
Ok, that's very late and wouldn't help the poster anymore. But maybe anyone else runs into the same problems. revdep-rebuild rebuilds external kernel modules, e.g. nvidia-kernel, open-afs, vmware-modules e.t.c. For oss4 that script isn't working. Oss4 rebuilds the modules on his own when booting wit...

Re: Xonar DS - No sound
Today I tried the newest oss-devel from mercurial. The module oss_cmi878x loads fine, but there's still no sound.

Re: Xonar DS - No sound
Hi, hello.
Are there any news about the support of this card? I was searching for something like a Changelog in the devel-version, but I didn't find anything.

Re: Xonar DS - No sound
After some Google Research I guess there are no other chips than AV66. Yes I would say I have the same card.
Ok, it means I bought one of the few cards that isn't supported by OSS
What do you think which time do we have to expect until a support?

Re: Xonar DS - No sound
Edit:
When I enable "speaker spread" in ossmixer I can hear a noise, when I'm playing an mp3 with mplayer.

Xonar DS - No sound
Hi there, Today I got my new sound card. It's a Xonar DS. I've read in the forum, that it's supported by OSS4. Config: - System: Gentoo - Kernel: 2.6.34 - Soundsystem is only analog, no digital input Problem: I can't hear any sound. Osstest writes: osstest Sound subsystem and version: OSS 4.2 (b 200...

Skype 2.1.0.47 - no oss?
Hi there, today in Gentoo update list I found an update of Skype from 2.0.0.72 to 2.1.0.47. It had been installed without problems. It started and processed the login. There's no error message, but there's also no chance to get an audio device working. I can choose: default device. When I try to cal...

Gentoo Ebuild for 4.2?
Hi there, oss4.2.0 is available more than 2 months. Unfortunately I didn't find an ebuild for gentoo. On bugs.gentoo.org the most actual ebuild is from february 2009 with last change vom august. It's version 4.1.1052-r1. This is the same like in oss-overlay. Is there a more recent ebuild available?
