I'm using funtoo here (flavor of gentoo), OSSv4 is working great and is officially supported. You might try it instead of gentoo, the people on funtoo irc are very friendly :) The GitHub issue is really strange, although maybe the've had some server issues... kinda looks like a corrupted database th...
Well I guess libqtmultimediakit does not have any OSSv4 support then. Maybe file a bugreport or go to the Qt IRC and ask there? Maybe you could try to set up an ALSA emulation for such use cases. See http://www.opensound.com/wiki/index.php/Tips_And_Tricks#ALSA_Emulation Gstreamer has hidden resample...
@ossuser, @igorzwx: Please stop debates about conspiracy theories on this forum. Independently if those "theories" are true or not, I do not wish those debates here to be taken place. This forum may not be very active, but is still probably the last sane place for oss-related discussion. I...
It should be noted that even if ALSA with a better resampler does a much better job, it will still never come to the precision of OSSv4. Independent of the resampler, OSSv4 uses floating point precision for mixing, (only if enabled during build time though!), while ALSA uses fixed point. See Hannu's...
Could any devel look at this issue ?... Hi oss117! You might try contacting the defacto last active developer dev . I could always successfully reach him via his email dev[at]opensound.com. He even fixed some stuff for me. However I also motivated him a bit by buying their oss license (merely 10 bu...
To be honest, beside osstest and ossxmix (which both seem to be working fine), I didn't extensively test the audio on this motherboard, the reason being it's in a PC that I only use as a firewall/NAS/web server (there're not even speakers connected to it and I ran the quick tests with a headphone)....
Yes of course I could, but as far as I understand the Arch packaging guidelines state it should go into /usr(/lib). And whats the difference in the end? If the end user even cares he can modify the PKGBUILD and install it into /opt. Thanks for the .desktop file however, I thought of doing one but di...
However, I'm a little disappointed... Because OSS v4.2 build 2010 still doesn't compile properly under Linux v3.14+ and still requires the patch I published for build 2009 ... Hopefully, that fix will get integrated in build 2011... Yeah there's a similar patch on the mailing list , no idea why thi...
