how to remove oss? and is x-fi fatality pro supported?

Postby loganjoss » Mon Feb 23, 2015 6:39 pm

Hi,
I've try to install oss 4.2 build 2011 on my mint x64 cinnamon edition. Everything went smooth untill probably the last step soundoff&&sync&&soundon&&......(or something like that)
at these step computer froze completely.
After restart i've tried a soundon and got a message to delete some file (dont remember which file) and to try again. I did that and oss started without any error. A soundoff will freeze my computer again.
The problem is that ossinfo detect 0 cards but down below is a list where my card is included.
Or better to say was a list cause after trying to reinstall alsa in the hope that will remove also the oss i manage to crash my linux.
So for now i can access the partition for my mint. i can't use terminal due to an issue with video card that makes everything unreadable.when cinnamon starts computer freeze.
So is there a way to remove oss in these conditions?
Also is my xfi fatality pro card supported by oss?

Edit: forgot to mention that im not an expert in linux. so please try to explain step by step what to do

Edit2: system started
ossinfo output

You may try to read something like this: _http://www.opensound.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5586

If you do not want to learn Linux you may ask for help on Ubuntu forums.
