Hi there,
I'm trying to use OSS on FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE with my Lynx TWO-B card. However, OSS 4.2 build 2000 doesn't seem to include the lynxtwo driver - ossdetect doesn't detect any valid cards. I'm a bit of a newbie though, so I might be wrong about things.
Is this a proper bug?
Thanks!

Oh, and just to say, I am using the binary package, not building from source. I know lynx drivers aren't open source.

The ports version doesn't include the Lynx driver (not opened source yet). Perhaps a binary version from the 4front site will work? (Otherwise, write to 4front and ask them to compile one).

Hi cesium, thanks for your reply.
As I said, I'm using the binary package, is definitely not in there. I have a Gentoo machine with a lynx two card in it, and OSS works on that. I had a look, and the linux package includes some lynx two-specific files. There's a lynxtwo.c file in there, amongst others. Not so in the FreeBSD package.
I've written to 4front to see if it will be possible to support FreeBSD - any idea if the driver would require fundamental reworking to run?

Sorry, but I have no idea... I can't see the source anymore then you can**. However, the OSS drivers should be system-independent behind the OS-wrapper layer, so I think it should be workable. Btw, You may wish to write to the oss-devel mailing list, if the 4front address doesn't give a reply.
