Hi there,
oss4.2.0 is available more than 2 months. Unfortunately I didn't find an ebuild for gentoo. On bugs.gentoo.org the most actual ebuild is from february 2009 with last change vom august. It's version 4.1.1052-r1. This is the same like in oss-overlay. Is there a more recent ebuild available?
Gentoo Ebuild for 4.2?

You can try renaming last working ebuild to oss-4.2.2001.ebuild and commenting out epatch lines.
Re: Gentoo Ebuild for 4.2?
It's better to use the live ebuild (oss-devel-9999) from the overlay (oss-overlay).

Re: Gentoo Ebuild for 4.2?
Hello guys! Thank you for oss4, the sound with my ESI Juli@ really nice. Some annoying things
- why the latest ebuilds (oss-devel and 4.2 from oss-overlay) has such crazy dependencies- i need to compile dozens of x11-libs, cairo, pango, gtk, around 50 packages total. I have X-less gentoo and listening only music (no movies or else).I can provide an output but a bit later. Thanks

Should be http://dpaste.com/127523 sorry.
Re: Gentoo Ebuild for 4.2?
That's because of ossxmix which requires gtk. The ebuild makes it non-optional to install ossxmix

Is there a way this ebuild makes into the overlay?
Re: Gentoo Ebuild for 4.2?
http://hg.atheme.org/users/majeru/portage-overlay? I don't know much about gentoo policies, but I know an oss package made it into Debian, so there should be no license issues...
