But on 5.3-RELEASE, and with the 3.99.1i driver, the sound in the rear speakers is VERY quiet.
Using OSSXMIX the sound volume in the back speakers is full up.
The only way I can get equalibrium is to turn the front speakers down A LOT, then crank up the manual volume, but because the back speakers were normally so attentuated, this causes distortion (and I can't crank the system up loud for decent music
Any ideas ? As I said, I've had no problems with the previous releases on 5.2.1-RELEASE, and there have been no hardware changes to the machine - just the OS and OSS upgrades.
